A team of three Worcestershire Hunt subscribers and one Master of Foxhounds, all of whom rarely miss a day’s hunting. The team has been well and truly bitten by the team chase bug.
Regular Team Members
Caroline ‘Cal’ Webley and John - Cal provides the majority of the horses for the team- all of which hunt and can be used a hirelings! She is a regular gate shutter out hunting and when not shutting them she is undefeated when competing at gate jumping on the legendary John. She has hunted since she was three years old- taught by her dad Tony- another team chase addict in his day. She is also a hugely successful show jumper.
Anthony Webley and Risky - Cals’ brother Ant rode as youngster until quad biking took over at the age of 13. In December 2012 he took on a challenge to raise money for the Air Ambulance by completing a day’s hunting with the Worcestershire on Boxing Day. Two years later we can’t get him out of the saddle and despite a few tumbles and a recent broken leg he has continued hunting and team chasing. You’d have a fight on your hands to get him off his beloved Risky!
John Wofford and Oliver - MFH with the Worcestershire and a great field master to follow over the biggest hedges. He comes from a very horsey background with both his parents competing in the Olympics. Most importantly he drives the team and our supporters around the country to all the team chases aboard the famous Scania party bus- no one goes home until the bar is dry!
Helen Millward and Calamity- Heli has ridden since she was a toddler and has taken on the ride of Calamity both team chasing and out hunting. She is usually leading the team as it’s the safest place to put her and Calamity can do no wrong in her eyes! She competed on the Young Rider Dressage Squad and has raced on the flat several years ago. Cal is trying to convert her to show jumping by making her compete in the gate jumping as well. She is also a Veterinary Physiotherapist.
We should also say a huge thank you to our variety of supporters who trail around after us doing all they can to help and cheer us along despite not being able to watch half the time!
Notable results within the last 10 years
We completed our first full season in 2013-14 which culminated in us qualifying for the National Championships at our own event at our first attempt at an open. We also scored a clear round at the Championships.
We are all looking forward to a safe, successful season doing intermediates and open events- but remember these horses are hunters not team chase specialists so getting around each Open course safely is a great result for us!
